Idea development

After looking at all the artists, talking about ideas in class and all the research about sleep paralysis I decided to be even more symbolic in my final shots. I decided to change the location of my shoot as well. Initially I was planning to shoot it in the bedroom with the subject lying on the bed, but I decided to do it in the studio. I will have more control of light and I could create more interesting shots.

Camille Vivier, Unititled, Caroline II, 2003
In my test shoot as a model I used Joe Gregory, however according to statistics sleep paralysis is more often to happen for people under age of 25. So I decided to look for a different model as well.

My final images are going to be dark, with black background and just the model lit. I also want to use catch light to help separate subject from the background.

I would like to dress my model with white nightwear, similar to the one in Camille Vivier, Unititled, Caroline II, 2003 image. Due to the fact that I am shooting my model out of context (in the studio and not in the bedroom, where sleep paralysis actually happens) I want still to give a feeling like this is happening at night in the bedroom that is why my model is going to wear nightwear.
