Nicolas Bruno

While doing my research about sleep paralysis I found a photographer, who is already doing series about this sleeping disorder.

Nicolas Bruno has been haunted by his sleep paralysis since he was 15. He has since used these nightmares and visions to inspire his surreal and conceptual photography. "I have experienced bone chilling hallucinations and extreme terror during these dreams. Faceless silhouetted figures, embraces from shadow-like hands, warping of reality around me - all while [feeling] completely paralyzed." (Nicolas Bruno)

He started jotting down notes about his visions and referencing them later to recreate their major components in beautifully composed photographs.

Bruno’s work is heavy with symbolism, giving viewers the ability to openly interpret the storyline and concept of each composition.
